because things are coming into place. I've been up on Orcas for two weeks now and i find myself constantly saying, "oh yea....that's why i f-ing love this place so much." i've been living at Brett's house, a place known as the coop (see: below)

and spending my days frolicking about. the weather has been outrageous with crispy blue skies and sun-shiny afternoons. i've been spending my days eating potatoes of every making (garlic mashed, fried with kale...we dug up something like 8 gajillion pounds of potatoes at a friend's farm last week), drinking coffee (i'm back on the bandwagon), riding my bicycle 'round the island, planting a few trees for a wetland restoration project, and learning a shit-ton/working at a small farm on the island called
Maple Rock. John, the owner, offered me a position there in the spring, so I'll be heading back here hopefully in February and moving onto the farm. Even in the few days I have spent working over there, I have already learned so much. I am excited to get to spend a full growing season there and stoked to get to work with the kick-ass crew over there.
This island is such a paradise, I can't believe I am fortunate enough to get to spend so much time here and to make this place my home.
Catch ya'll on the flipside.
